The Cool Tour of Istanbul
Overview
This tour is for fun-lovers, night-owls, and tireless travelers who are done with the “essentials” of Istanbul. There are countless tours of the main attractions, but I want to showcase how that history translates into our modern day. Besides showing, you Ottoman residences, Italian-designed secret passages, hidden access rooftops where you can look the Galata Tower in the eye, I really want to explain the alternative scene and what makes Istanbul so “cool.” I'll be pointing out structures like: Ottoman-buildings which have been converted into libraries, urban gardens or the only unofficial queer club in Taksim.
As an avid-traveler, I deeply treasure the spontaneous connections created under such colorful circumstances so, this tour has a SOCIAL focus as well. It's ideal for a dynamic group or extraverted solo-travelers; prepare some fun facts because sorry, I will try to make all of us become FRRRIEEENDS.

On arrival
We'll be meeting right outside the KARAKÖY branch of Books & Coffee- just a few meters from the tram station. I'll be wearing a red Boston cap (or a colorful scarf if it's cold.) I'll allow ~5 minutes in the beginning for everyone to gather, so feel free to grab a coffee or tea as you wait!
Things to note
Remember to stay comfortable, as there will be a few steep climbs. One includes a long staircase and unfortunately would not be suitable for visitors with limited mobility. If you have pets, they are also very welcome as long as they are on a leash. :)
