Overview
Hoan Kiem Lake (1 hour): Start your Hanoi Old Quarter walking tour at Hoan Kiem Lake, the heart of Hanoi. Observe locals engaging in activities like playing badminton and exercising.
St. Joseph's Cathedral (30 minutes): Visit St. Joseph's Cathedral, a prime example of French colonial architecture. Visitors can enter the Cathedral during specific mass times, with entry available on weekdays and Sundays.
Trang Tien Ice Cream Shop (30 minutes): Enjoy a stop at Trang Tien Ice Cream Shop, where ice cream was first introduced to Vietnam by the French in 1958. Taste a local delicacy while learning about its history.
Hanoi Opera House (30 minutes): Visit the Hanoi Opera House, completed in 1911, designed by French architects and resembling the Opéra Garnier in Paris. Admire its grand architecture and learn about its cultural significance.
Hoa Lo Prison (1 hour): End the tour at Hoa Lo Prison, which showcases the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France. The prison displays exhibits about its use until the mid-1950s and its historical importance in the fight for freedom.
