Overview
This walking tour goes through three zones in Guatemala City (2, 1, and 4, in that order), and it will provide a general understanding of the geophysical and biogeographical characteristics of the territory, along with a summary of the history of the cultures that have inhabited the area for over 12,000 years.
You will also learn about the past and present sociocultural and political issues that shape the current societies that share the country from the ancient native cultures, throughout the Spanish occupation, the Central American independence, the eventual creation of the Republic of Guatemala, and the settlements of the capital city.
Please note that you will have to arrive using Uber to the starting location, and since it's a walking tour, we finish at a different location, from where you can take an Uber to get back to your lodging area or next destination.
