First Thing to Do in Florence: Free Tour
Overview
It’s designed for curious and nerdy travelers who want to understand how this small medieval republic gave birth to the Renaissance.
We explore Florence’s most important landmarks at a relaxed pace. Each stop dives into a key idea: the difference between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the engineering behind Brunelleschi’s Dome, the structure of the Florentine Republic, and the rise of the Medici family.
By the end, you’ll understand why Michelangelo’s David became the symbol of a new era, how to visit the Uffizi Gallery intelligently, and what made Florence the most influential city of the Renaissance.
