Refreshing juices, Kachumbari, and sweet treats like Maandazi or Vitumbua complete the experience. After enjoying the meal you helped create, continue to the Village Museum for cultural insights, followed by an energetic Traditional Drumming and Dancing Workshop.

Our Guides
On arrival
Your experience takes place in Dar es Salaam. Guests can choose to meet us at the National Museum and House of Culture or be picked up directly from their accommodation within the city.
If meeting at the National Museum, our guide will be waiting at the main entrance holding a sign with your name and Dahomey Safaris branding. The museum is centrally located and easily accessible by Uber, Bolt, or taxi.
If you prefer hotel pick-up, please share your accommodation details in advance. We recommend being ready at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Things to note
This is a 6-hour cultural and culinary experience in Dar es Salaam that includes walking in a local neighborhood and market visit. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and light, breathable clothing suitable for warm weather. Modest dress is recommended when visiting local communities.
Kindly inform us in advance of any food allergies or dietary restrictions so we can accommodate you during the cooking class. The experience is family-friendly and suitable for all skill levels — no prior cooking experience is required.
