Sunrise at Tres Cruces Tour
Overview
Choose your adventure option:
1. Early Morning Departure (2:00 AM): Ideal for making the most of your time. We depart directly from Cusco on a smooth journey to reach the viewpoint just before dawn and enjoy the morning spectacle without spending the night outdoors. 45 €
2. Camping Option (Previous Day): For adventure lovers. We’ll leave the afternoon before to set up camp under a spectacular starry sky (ideal for astrophotography), enjoy an alpine night, and wake up ready at the viewpoint.
We’ll return to Cusco at noon. The guide is paid by tips; transportation, admission, and camping are covered by a fixed payment made in advance. Be sure to bring clothing for extreme cold!
Our Guides
On arrival
Pickup Service Included: Since this is an exclusive experience in my private car, I’ll pick you up right at the door of your hotel, lodging, or Airbnb, as long as it’s located within Cusco’s historic center or in central areas accessible by car.
Alternative Meeting Point: If your lodging is located on a pedestrian street, a very narrow street, or outside the downtown area, we’ll arrange in advance for a central, well-lit, and safe pickup spot (such as Plaza Regocijo or Plaza de Armas).
Real-Time Coordination: Before departure (whether at 2:00 AM or the afternoon before for the camping trip), we’ll stay in touch via WhatsApp. I’ll send you my real-time location and the car’s details so you’ll know exactly when to head out to the door.
Things to note
Camping Equipment: For the camping option, we have one tent available (ideal for those who do not have their own equipment). Please check for availability when making your reservation. Passengers must bring their own sleeping bag suitable for cold temperatures and with good thermal insulation.
Weather and “Plan B”: The viewpoint is located at the edge of the rainforest, a very humid and unpredictable area. Although we are in the best season (June/July), the weather can vary. If dense fog blocks out the sun, the breathtaking “sea of clouds” and the mystique of the route still make for an incredible experience. The tour is not canceled due to weather conditions.
Extreme Cold: In the early morning, temperatures at Tres Cruces can drop to around 0 °C. It is mandatory to dress in layers, including thermal underwear, a windbreaker, gloves, and a beanie.
Food and Water: Since we’ll be passing right through the town of Paucartambo due to its festivities, there won’t be any restaurants available along the route. Each passenger must bring their own energy snacks, water, and a meal for dinner or breakfast in the mountains.
Space in the Vehicle: Since we’ll be traveling in a private car or van, luggage space is limited. One standard backpack per person is allowed, plus essential overnight gear.
Confirmed Reservation: The advance payment secures your seat in the vehicle and is non-refundable, as it covers the logistics of the trip.
Minimum Number of Passengers:
To guarantee the trip’s departure in either of the two options, a minimum of 2 confirmed passengers is required. If the minimum number of passengers is not reached for your chosen date, we will notify you in advance to reschedule your trip, offer you another option, or issue a full refund of your advance payment.
Cancellation policy
Free Cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity starts. Late cancellation or your non-arrival is not refundable.
