Overview of the tour in Cordoba

The palatine city is located 8 kilometers from Córdoba, at the foot of Sierra Morena. For centuries, it was completely abandoned, until the end of the 19th century, when the city was unearthed and encumbered as a completely descriptive space of Islamic art. Since then, it has not undergone any modification. Within its walls, it housed great wealth, such as mercury pools, gold roofs and ataurique decorations, which made it the land chosen by philosophers, caliphs, military, and princes of the time.

On this guided visit to Medina Azahara we will walk through the streets that once hosted the former Arab civil and military administration. We will also travel back in time to get lost among its ruins, corridors, guardrooms and servants, mosques, towers and royal halls, pool, and the great porch, and imagine what life was like at that majestic palace.

In addition, on our tour with a guide in Spanish, we will be able to know the Interpretation Center of Medina Azahara, which in 2012 was named “European Museum of the Year”.

Things to note

- Please come 15 minutes in advance so that the tour can start on time.
- Our guides will be identified with a folder and green accreditation, with the company logo: Paseando Por Europa.
- Show the guide, at the meeting point, and the reservation confirmation email, either in print or by mobile phone or tablet.
- Group reservations of more than 6 adults have to pay €8 per adult. The maximum allowed is 3 children for each adult.
- If your group is more than 6 adults and you have made several separate reservations under different names, but all for the same group, you will have to pay €8 per adult. If not, we will not be able to accept you on the tour and the guide may ask you to leave the tour.

- This tour requires an additional cost for the shuttle bus from the Visitor Center to the archaeological site.

- This tour requires an additional entrance fee for non-EU people. (€1.5 / person)

HOW TO GET TO MEDINA AZAHARA
In order to get to our meeting point, located outside the Medina Azahara Visitor Center, between the main door and the shuttle stop, you can take several options:

1. By private car. You can access the car park of the Visitor Center, where our meeting point is located. Remember that you will not be able to go up to the site by private car. It is mandatory to take the shuttle.

2. By bus. There is an exclusive bus for the Medina Azahara Visitor Center that leaves from Córdoba.

3. By taxi
