On this free food tour, we’ll visit some local spots to sample popular Egyptian dishes, learn the history behind street food, and understand how Cairo residents eat in their daily lives.
The experience begins near the Egyptian Museum and continues to local neighborhoods where you’ll sample specialties like koshary, traditional snacks, refreshing drinks, and Egyptian sweets—depending on the time of day, availability, and the group’s preferences.
It’s not just about eating—it’s about experiencing a genuine part of Egyptian culture: places with a local atmosphere, authentic flavors, casual conversations, and helpful recommendations for continuing to enjoy the city.
The tour can be adapted for vegetarians and people with certain dietary preferences, provided you let us know in advance.

On arrival
Please meet your guide at Tahrir Square, near the Egyptian Museum area.
The meeting point is easy to reach by taxi, Uber, or metro. If you take the metro, get off at Sadat Station and exit toward Tahrir Square.
Your guide will contact you before the tour and wait at the meeting point with clear identification.
We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the tour starts.

Food and drinks are not included in the price of the free tour. Guests pay directly for whatever they choose to eat or drink.
Please bring cash in Egyptian pounds, as some local restaurants may not accept credit cards.
