Overview

Visitors gain insight into the city’s history, particularly the 18th and 19th centuries, a glorious era for the capital. The route begins at Eötvös Square/the Intercontinental Hotel, continues along the Danube promenade, past the Redoute to Vörösmarty Square (the historic city center), and along Váci Street to the Elisabeth Bridge. During the walk, we’ll admire the view of the Danube, and I’ll share lesser-known but fascinating legends and stories about everyday life in past centuries, as well as details about the monuments and most beautiful buildings in this neighborhood. The tour ends at Petőfi Square, right next to the Elisabeth Bridge.

I’m happy to provide guests with additional useful information about their stay in Budapest and Hungary.

The entire tour covers 1.5 km. In case of bad weather, it will be rescheduled for a later date.

On arrival

We'll meet at Eötvös Square, in front of the entrance to the Intercontinental Hotel, at the base of the "Eötvös József" monument.
I’ll be waiting for you with a sign that says: FREETOURS/TOUR 1.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour begins.

Things to note

If the weather forecast is poor, the tour will be rescheduled for a later date.
The tour is also suitable for people with disabilities who use wheelchairs.
Pets are welcome to join.
