Budapest Christmas Markets Tour
Overview
We will start in Ferenciek tere, where you can breathe the essence of the imperial Budapest. Among illuminated streets and decorated shop windows, you will learn how the Hungarians celebrate Advent and the arrival of St. Nicholas. In the historic Pichler Astoria you will taste the delicious kürtőskalács, the most traditional sweet of the country.
The walk continues along the majestic Párisi Udvar and the elegant Váci Street, where typical Hungarikum products, a symbol of Hungarian heritage, abound. In Vörösmarty Square, the most famous market, you will discover some typical dishes such as töltött káposzta or bejgli and learn about the legend of the Gerbeaud pastry shop.
The final touch comes in front of St. Stephen's Basilica, home of the most awarded market in Europe, with its 3D light show, skating rink and szaloncukor sweets, which have adorned Hungarian trees since the nineteenth century. A unique experience to live Christmas like a real local, among history, sweets and traditions.
