Known as "Little Paris" during the Belle Époque, it features a unique blend of French, Austrian and Romanian architectural styles.
Join me, born and raised during the communist era, and share my personal experiences under the rule of the infamous Nicolae Ceaușescu.
Together we will visit Ateneul Român, explore Calea Victoriei with its fascinating buildings, and stop at Revolution Square, where Ceausescu gave his last speech, a place marked by history for its role in the uprising against a harsh dictatorship.
Next, we will head to the Old Town to see Hanul lui Manuc and Curtea Veche, a historic inn with a charming veranda. We will continue to the beautiful Stavropoleos Church and, finally, the monumental Casa Poporului, the most visited symbol of the Ceaușescu era.
