Overview
At Libearty - the largest ethical bear sanctuary in Europe - you will join the official guided tour led by the sanctuary's specialist guide, who brings the story to life: how the Millions of Friends Association has rescued over 100 brown bears from cages, roadside attractions, and restaurants, releasing them into 70 hectares of natural Carpathian forest.
You will watch these bears forage, swim, and play, many for the first time. The guide will introduce individual bears by name, share their histories, and explain the conservation work that makes Libearty one of the few experiences of its kind in Europe.
Your guide from Transylvania Day Trips accompanies the group throughout, adding context about the region and wildlife, and keeping the day relaxed with plenty of time to observe and ask questions.
Your visit directly supports the sanctuary's conservation work.
Please note: not suitable for children under five or guests with mobility impairments. Wear sturdy footwear, as the visit takes place on forest paths.

Free pickup and drop-off is included from any address in Brasov. The location above is our default meeting point, ideal if you prefer to meet there directly. After booking, send your hotel or apartment address and we will confirm the exact pickup point, time, and the car that will collect you. Your guide will be waiting at the agreed spot a few minutes before the scheduled departure.
Things to note
Pickup and drop-off are free anywhere in Brasov, regardless of your address. If you are staying outside the city center, please mention this when booking, as we may need to adjust your pickup time slightly to ensure everyone arrives at the sanctuary on schedule. Please be ready at your agreed pickup point 5 minutes before departure, as the tour joins a fixed sanctuary schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals.
The tour runs in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately for the forecast, including rain gear or warm layers if needed. The guided walk through the sanctuary takes approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes on forest paths, so wear comfortable, sturdy footwear. On hot days, bring water to stay hydrated, as there are limited options inside. Food is not allowed inside the sanctuary.

Free Cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity starts. Late cancellation or your non-arrival is not refundable.
