Overview

Welcome to Bologna, "the Red, the Fat, the Learned" One: a city known not only for the oldest university in Europe and fascinating medieval reddish buildings but especially for its unparalleled gastronomy.

Are you ready to discover the most hidden places and culinary delights of this wonderful city?

Come with us, and we will lead you on the discovery of the main traditional markets, where locals are still used to going daily to buy fresh bread and pastries, fish, cured meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, and more.

Walking through the narrow streets, we will show you the gastronomic specialties of the region, giving you some precious recommendations on what you should absolutely try during your stay!

We will start from Mercato delle Erbe and end at the Chamber of Commerce, close to the Quadrilatero market. We are waiting for you with great hunger and curiosity!

Mercato delle Erbe

On arrival

From Piazza Maggiore/Piazza del Nettuno, head towards Ugo Bassi Street (the main long street) and walk in the opposite direction of the towers. At a certain point, you will find a gallery on your right and the entrance of Mercato delle Erbe (tip: there is Cremeria Vero at the entrance as well, so if you are using Google Maps put in "Cremeria Vero", so that you do not risk to go on the opposite side of the market). Here is the meeting point.
