Bilbao Free Tour: History & Legends of Seven Streets
Overview
We will walk along the Arenal, the living room of the city. First river port and scene of the social life of Bilbao. Here is where we begin to understand the "stretch" that gave the town and why we say that "Bilbao people are born where we want".
In front of the Arenal, the church of San Nicolás de Bari, patron saint of sailors. A baroque jewel to which sailors prayed before setting sail.
A few meters away, the Plaza Nueva. I will tell you how it witnessed bombardments and even a sea of Venetian gondolas.
Apparitions and miracles surround the square of Miguel de Unamuno and the most incredible anecdotes about his figure.
We arrive at the Cathedral of Santiago, a Gothic jewel hidden between buildings. We will discover Bilbao's connection with the Camino de Santiago.
The Seven Streets reveal the secrets of the non-existent walls, unknown corners or the mysterious glass, among others.
We finish our free tour in the Ribera market with the best tips for you to enjoy Bilbao like a real "local".
