Belgrade Metro, Avala & Žrnov Discovery Tour
Overview
At Avala, we'll visit the impressive Avala Tower, one of Serbia's most recognizable landmarks, offering spectacular panoramic views over Belgrade and the surroundings. We'll also explore the Monument to the Unknown Hero, a masterpiece by renowned sculptor Ivan Meštrović, and learn about its significance in Serbian history.
A short walk brings us to the remains of the medieval Žrnov Fortress, where you'll hear the fascinating story of the fortress that once stood on the mountain before being demolished in the 20th century. Along the way, you'll enjoy peaceful forest paths, fresh air, and excellent photo opportunities.

On arrival
Please meet your guide at Park Ćirila i Metodija, next to Vuk Monument (Vukov Spomenik). The meeting point is easy to reach by public transport, taxi, or on foot. Your guide will be waiting near the monument a few minutes before the tour starts. Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure a smooth departure.

Please note that the tour schedule may vary slightly depending on public transport timetables and traffic conditions. We will align departure times with available metro and bus connections to ensure a smooth and authentic local experience.
We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, as parts of the tour include outdoor walking on forest and mountain paths. Please bring water and light snacks or food, especially for the longer duration on Avala Mountain.
The full experience lasts at least 4 hours and may extend depending on group pace, weather, and time spent at key stops such as Avala Tower, Monument to the Unknown Hero, and Žrnov Fortress.
Public transport tickets or top-up cards are required for the metro and bus segments of the tour. Your guide will assist with timing and connections, but guests are responsible for having valid transport credit.
We recommend bringing a camera or phone for photos, as panoramic viewpoints on Avala offer some of the best scenery around Belgrade.
