Belgrade Like a Local: Culture, Stories & Hidden Spots
Overview
During the experience, we will explore charming neighborhoods, old architecture, hidden corners, local viewpoints and places connected with the rich history of Belgrade and the Balkans. You will hear stories about empires, traditions, wars, everyday life, nightlife, football culture and the unique spirit of the city.
My name is Marko, and I am a licensed tourist guide, football coach, English teacher and passionate traveler who enjoys meeting people from different cultures. My tours are relaxed, interactive and friendly, focused on creating a real connection with the city and its people.
This experience feels more like exploring Belgrade with a local friend than joining a classic tourist tour. Expect authentic stories, local recommendations, hidden places and a memorable atmosphere full of energy and good conversations.

On arrival
Meeting point is at Trg Republike in Belgrade, one of the main central squares and the easiest place to find in the city.
You will meet me at the statue of Prince Mihailo (the horse statue in the middle of the square). This is the central landmark of Trg Republike and clearly visible from all sides.
How to get there:
By foot: it is in the very center of Belgrade, close to Knez Mihailova Street (main pedestrian zone).
By public transport: take any bus or tram that goes to “Trg Republike” or “Knez Mihailova / National Museum” stops.
By taxi: simply say “Trg Republike, kod konja (Prince Mihailo statue)”.
When you arrive, look for a guide holding a sign or standing near the statue. Please come 5 minutes earlier to avoid confusion in case of crowds, as this is a very busy central point of the city.
Things to note
Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of the tour to ensure a smooth departure, as Trg Republike in Belgrade can be busy and crowded, especially during weekends and holidays.
Wear comfortable shoes, as the tour involves walking on different types of streets and surfaces. In summer, bring water, sunscreen and a hat, while in colder months dress in layers and bring a warm jacket.
The tour runs in all weather conditions unless extreme weather makes it unsafe. In case of rain, an umbrella or waterproof jacket is recommended.
Please note that the tour is flexible and may slightly adjust depending on group interests, pace and city events on that day. Questions are always welcome, and interaction is encouraged throughout the experience.
Make sure your phone is charged if you want to take photos or use maps after the tour for further exploration of the city.
