Beyond the Landmarks: A Local Beijing Walk
Overview
Led by a local host, this relaxed walking experience explores Sanyanjing Hutong, the former Sino-French University, Liangguochang Hutong, a traditional local market, and the historic Zhizhu Temple area. Along the way, you’ll learn about Beijing Opera, courtyard houses, hutong culture, and local customs.
A highlight of the walk is visiting a lively neighborhood market where Beijing residents shop for fresh vegetables, snacks, spices, and traditional foods. Guests can also sample classic Beijing specialties such as douzhi, jianbing, and traditional pastries at their own expense.
