Overview
Hi dear friends,
If you'd like to travel back in time and feel like you're 50 years in the past in Soviet Baku, this tour is definitely for you. Following the oil boom in Baku, several changes occurred in the city’s life, the most significant of which was the preservation of its architectural heritage. Small huts were demolished, and in their place, some of the best examples of Soviet architectural and cultural heritage were built, including residential buildings, palaces, cinema centers, and libraries. Architects from different countries under the rule of the USSR did their best to deliver top projects.
Today, many of those buildings are more than 60–80 years old, but they still look pretty cool, and every stone tells a different story, having witnessed all the historical moments of that era.
By Soviet legacy, we would also like to highlight the Polish legacy in Baku, as some world-famous Baku projects were designed by Polish architects.
This tour will give you the chance to discover the amazing, unique, and mysterious architectural and cultural heritage of Baku and to gain more detailed insights into Soviet architecture.
