Hills of Athens Tour: Off-the-Beaten-Path Urban Hike & Sunset View
Overview
Our adventure begins in front of the National Archaeological Museum for an immersive journey through the alternative neighborhood of Exarcheia. Along the way, we’ll discover its unique local culture and captivating street art before beginning our ascent.
We’ll then climb Strefi Hill, a hidden oasis of greenery. Little known to travelers, it blends untamed nature with contemporary history. As you walk along its shaded paths beneath the pine trees, you’ll discover how this summit has become a symbol of Athenian counterculture.
To ensure you have the best experience, we’ll hike during the “Golden Hour.” At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a 360° panoramic view of the Acropolis, Mount Lycabettus, and the city as it lights up at sunset.
This isn’t just a walk—it’s an immersive look at Athens from above. Bring your camera and your curiosity!

I’ll send you a reminder message (via WhatsApp or the platform) right before the tour with a description or a photo of the exact location so you can easily find me. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early so we can introduce ourselves and get started on time!
Things to note
Comfortable shoes are a must: Strefi Hill remains a natural, untamed area in the heart of the city. The trails consist of gravel, dirt, and steep steps. Avoid flip-flops or heels at all costs—opt for a good pair of sneakers!
Hydration: Be sure to bring a bottle of water with you. There are no stores or kiosks at the top of the hill where you can buy one.
The sunset won’t wait: The tour schedule is carefully timed so you don’t miss the “Golden Hour” and the sunset at the summit. If you’re significantly late, it will be very difficult to catch up with the group once they’ve started the ascent.
The Free Tour Concept: Reservations are free, and this tour is entirely based on your voluntary donations and tips at the end of the experience. You’re completely free to give whatever you feel is fair based on the time we spent together and your budget!

You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
