Things to note
Altitude is the biggest challenge: go slow, hydrate, and choose longer routes to acclimatize.
Route matters: Machame (popular), Lemosho (scenic), Marangu (easier), Northern Circuit (best acclimatization).
Train in advance by building stamina through hikes, cardio, and hill training.
Pack smart: layer clothing, bring quality boots, a headlamp, meds, and a warm sleeping bag.
Get insurance: must cover high-altitude trekking and emergencies.
Weather changes fast: be ready for hot, cold, rain, and snow. Layering is key.
Summit night is tough: midnight start, freezing temps, steep climb, but worth it.
Expect basic conditions: limited toilets, no Wi-Fi, and simple meals.
Mental toughness counts: stay positive, patient, and celebrate every step.
