Ilkidinga is a small village on the slopes of Mount Meru, situated at an elevation of 1,741 meters above sea level and about a 30-minute drive from Arusha City. The village is predominantly populated by the WaArusha, a sub-group of the Maasai tribe.
Although they speak the Maasai vernacular, the WaArusha are believed to have Pare and Meru origins. Unlike their nomadic relatives, they primarily practice agriculture. The slopes feature a beautiful rainforest with stunning mountain landscapes, ensuring a breathtaking experience. The area is rich in history, culture, and wildlife.
Napuru Waterfalls is one of the main sources of Arusha’s largest river, the Themi River. Its crystal-clear water cascades from a height of approximately 78 meters, remaining refreshingly cool even in scorching heat.
