Overview
On the Lake Duluti Day Trip, we will explore Lake Duluti, an old crater that became a lake. The lake is incredibly deep, with estimates saying it’s more than 700m deep, though it remains unconfirmed to this day. Lake Duluti is beautifully situated between lush green forests, offering a wide range of activities. From here, you’ll have views of Mt. Meru and occasionally even Mt. Kilimanjaro. It’s a paradise for reptiles and birds, with monitor lizards sunbathing on the lake’s edge and a great variety of birds calling it home. Occasionally, monkeys can be seen swinging from the treetops along the lake.
Tour Plan:
- Arrive at Lake Duluti and take in the scenic views. The guided canoeing tour begins. Enjoy a 2-hour canoeing experience on the lake. Afterward, take a leisurely nature walk around Lake Duluti to explore the local ecosystem (2-3 hours). In the afternoon, enjoy a hot picnic lunch by the lake or at a nearby restaurant.
