Overview
Kikuletwa Hot Springs, known as Chemka or Maji Moto locally, is a paradisiac oasis amidst the Tanzanian savannah, offering captivating, Bounty-styled views, crystal-clear waters, and dense vegetation. The oasis is a unique phenomenon.
It is the only place in Tanzania (and most likely in East Africa) where the groundwater actively interacted with geothermal sources, forming several small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water. It is part of the Pangani Water Basin, which was formed during the Great Rift Valley’s formation. After a safari adventure, it is the perfect place to soothe the body in the therapeutic waters of the hot springs.
