World War II Tour (Jewish Quarter) of Amsterdam
Overview
To do this, we will take a trip to the past, going chronologically through the places, buildings, and monuments that will help us remember what life was like in Amsterdam from 1941 to 1945.
You will visit the oldest park in the city, the headquarters of the Jewish council, the disappeared Dutch theatre, the Schaduwkade, and the Artis Zoo, and you will discover why they were all essential during the development of the occupation.
Through these visits, we will talk about how time passed in the schools, how the deportations began, and how the Dutch people showed their support through resistance.
Finally, we will finish the tour at the Monument to those who fell in Auschwitz, discovering why we can find this small tribute to the well-known concentration camp in Amsterdam.
This activity includes:
- De Schaduwkade, monument
- Memorial to Auschwitz Victims
- Holocaust Memorial & Dutch Theater (Jewish Cultural Quarter)
- Wertheimpark
- Royal Palace Amsterdam
- Portuguese Synagogue of Amsterdam
- WATERLOOPLEIN MARKET
