Overview
Experience Zagreb With a Local: From History & Architecture to Coffee Culture
Discover Zagreb not just through its sights, but through the perspective of someone who calls it home. With a background in sociology, I see the city as a living network — where people, stories, and spaces intertwine to shape daily life.
We’ll begin in the Upper Town (Gornji Grad), the heart of old Zagreb. Wander cobbled streets, hear tales of rival hilltop settlements, and explore landmarks like St. Mark’s Church, Stone Gate, and Lotrščak Tower — where the cannon still fires at noon.
Then, we’ll slow down for something essential: coffee. In Zagreb, coffee isn’t just a drink — it’s a ritual, a way to pause, chat, and feel the city’s rhythm. We’ll step into a cozy local café, where you can ask questions, share stories, or simply enjoy the moment. And yes — coffee’s on me!
Our walk continues through the elegant Lower Town (Donji Grad), a showcase of 19th-century parks, squares, and grand Austro-Hungarian architecture — from Zrinjevac Park to the Croatian National Theatre and the Art Pavilion
By the end, you’ll know Zagreb not only through its landmarks, but through its everyday life, warmth, and spirit
