Overview

The Nightwatchman tour reveals the places and stories connected to them from the darker past of Zagreb's history, as seen by the Nightwatchman Gabrijel Požgaj, who held the position of the keeper of Lotrščak Tower in 1641. He is well-acquainted with the city's events and has many tales about the intriguing customs that were typical of the period.

Who was in charge of the walled city? How was the city protected? How were the accused tortured, and where were they imprisoned? What was the role of alchemy and medicinal practices? Why are there so many cases of witch trials in Zagreb? The Nightwatchman knows all, and even more, and he is eager to share this with his guests, who will feel protected as they follow him through sometimes darkly lit narrow alleys.

At the end of the tour, there is a special treat for guests, as the Nightwatchman will reveal a rare and unique item...
