Overview

Join me for a relaxed and engaging walking tour through the heart of Vilnius, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval capitals and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I’m a professional tour guide with an academic background in Italy. I studied at a university in Rome and am currently continuing my studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. My passion for history, art, and culture allows me to show Vilnius not only through its historical events, but also through its architecture and fascinating stories.

Together we'll travel through more than 700 years of history, from the legendary dream of Grand Duke Gediminas to modern-day Lithuania. Discover how different cultures, religions, and traditions shaped Vilnius, earning it the nickname "The Jerusalem of the North."

This tour goes beyond dates and facts. I'll share local legends, architectural highlights, hidden details, and stories that bring the city to life. You'll discover why Vilnius is known for its Baroque churches and how it has become one of Europe's fastest-growing technology hubs.

There is no fixed price. If you enjoy the experience, you are welcome to leave a tip at the end based on your satisfaction.

Meeting point

Gedimino paminklas (Monument to Grand Duke Gediminas in Cathedral Square)

On arrival

We will meet at the Monument to Grand Duke Gediminas in Cathedral Square, one of the most famous and easily recognizable landmarks in Vilnius. The monument stands directly in front of Vilnius Cathedral and not far away from the Bell Tower, making it very easy to find.

The square is located in the heart of the Old Town and can be reached on foot from most hotels and accommodations in the city centre. If you're arriving by public transport, simply get off at the Cathedral Square (Katedros aikštė) stop and walk a few minutes to the monument.

I'll be waiting for you 10 minutes before the tour starts next to the monument. My name is Marius, and I'll be wearing a blue tour guide lanyard, so you'll be able to spot me easily.

If you have any trouble finding the meeting point or are running late, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Things to note

The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours and covers around 3 km (2 miles) at a relaxed walking pace.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress according to the weather, as the tour takes place entirely outdoors.

This is a tip-based tour, so there is no fixed price. At the end of the tour, you are welcome to contribute whatever you feel the experience was worth.

The tour is conducted in English and is suitable for first-time visitors who want to discover Vilnius' history, culture, architecture, and local life.

At the end of the tour, I'll be happy to recommend the best local restaurants, cafés, museums, viewpoints, and other places to explore during your stay in Vilnius.
