Overview
This Cuenca municipality of the Order of Santiago is located between the Alcarria and La Mancha. That is why its attractions combine the best of both regions, such as the Labrador mill, which houses an ethnographic museum. The Plaza de la Villa, of medieval origin and Renaissance features, is the vital center of the town and in it stand out the Renaissance town hall of the sixteenth century, the house of the Buhardillas, the palace of Comendadores, from the seventeenth century, and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, declared of Cultural Interest. It is a temple built between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, where you have to look at its striking tower and its baptismal font of stone and marble with the Cross of Santiago.
You can also visit the hermitages of Magaceda, Romanesque, Santiago, and San Antón, and buildings such as La Tercia or the inn of the seventeenth century. In the Plaza del Torreón, the only remains of the original wall are still standing.
