Overview
Our adventure begins in the Cannaregio neighbourhood, where we provide a little historical background.
We’ll then lead you through the iconic city’s calles (alleys), over canals, and into campos (squares) to show you the less-explored Venice. Along the route, you’ll learn about the Venetian way of life and how this island community came to be such an iconic stop for world travellers.
Your guide will give you some insight into the history of Venice and explain some of the nuances that make the Island community so majestic!

Our Guides
On arrival
We’ll send you a message via the FreeTour app the night before your tour to confirm the meeting location. We request that you arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins for introductions and instructions. Venice can be very crowded, so give yourself ample time to travel to the meeting point. What looks like a 10-minute walk can often take 20.
Venice has periods of high tide, so we encourage you to consider this when choosing your shoes for the day.

Things to note
You get to choose the value of your tour, and we welcome your contributions. Average tips range from €15-40 per guest.
When booking, please be sure to include all guests that are attending, regardless of age. Venice has very strict regulations regarding tour group sizes, and we want to be able to accommodate everyone that we can.
How can the tour be free?
Our concept is simple — there is no set price. Instead, you tip your guide at the end of the tour whatever amount feels right to you. Typically, guests give between $10 to €50, depending on their satisfaction and budget.
Most guides accept cash or card payments, or you can do it via our app.
Free Cancellation
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
