Overview
Let yourself be enveloped by the charm of a city that preserves intact its medieval past, with cobbled streets, imposing walls and towers that watch over time.
Discover one of the jewels of the Southern Renaissance, promoted by Francisco de los Cobos, Secretary of State of Emperor Charles V and his architect Andrés de Vandelvira.
In Úbeda art found patrons among a flourishing nobility and an imposing influence of the Church. Thus arose a great wealth of monuments, majestic palaces, and churches that still today speak to us of the splendor of that time.
To walk through its streets is to travel back in time: from the Plaza de Mercado or 1º de Mayo (the oldest square in the city), the church of San Pablo, the Renaissance fountain, and the monument to San Juan de la Cruz. Up to the great Vázquez de Molina square, the old mosque was transformed into the Colegiata Mayor. You can visit the Sacra Capilla de El Salvador, mausoleum of Francisco de los Cobos, the Palacio Deán Ortega, Palacio Marqués de Mancera, former Bishop's Prison, and the Palacio Vela de los Cobos, the last noble residence inhabited in the city.
If you want to live it calmly and in detail is the perfect choice.
