Overview

Join me for an insightful journey along the Mediterranean’s most beautiful urban coastline. Having spent a decade designing tourism strategy for the City of Thessaloniki and the Greek Ministry of Tourism, I offer a narrative that goes beyond simple dates. We begin at the iconic City Hall and then walk by the spots that were highlighted the most, exploring the "why" and "how" behind the city’s transformation during the decade 2010 - 2020. We will stroll past the Zongolopoulos Umbrellas and through the award-winning thematic gardens of the New Waterfront, discussing the architecture that redefined our city.

The tour concludes in the elegant Karabournaki district of Kalamaria, known as the city's "Riviera." This experience is perfect for those who want to understand the strategic development of Thessaloniki while enjoying a relaxed seaside promenade. As a specialist in destination marketing and a current student of Tourism Management, I provide a unique perspective on the city’s growth, ending with my favorite recommendations for authentic seaside coffee or seafood dining.

On arrival

We will meet at the main entrance of the White Tower. I’ll be holding a red umbrella so you can easily spot me.

Things to note

Our walk starts promptly at 14.00pm. I recommend arriving 10 minutes early so we can start our journey on time.

Preparation: It’s a flat 5.5km (3.4 mile) walk, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water.

Weather: The coastal breeze is lovely, but don't forget your sunglasses and your scarf!
