Overview
Join our Free Walking Tour of Tétouan and uncover the rich history, culture, and daily life of one of northern Morocco’s most fascinating cities. Led by expert local guides, this immersive experience combines architecture, tradition, and captivating stories that bring the city to life.
We’ll start in the historic Medina of Tétouan, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where narrow alleyways and bustling souks reveal centuries of Andalusian and Moroccan influence. Wander through vibrant marketplaces, discover hidden artisan workshops, and learn about the city’s past from its founding to the present.
Next, we’ll walk through the Spanish Ensanche neighborhood, exploring its elegant plazas, colonial-era buildings, and cultural landmarks such as the Spanish Library, the Institute Cervantes, and the Église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires. Along the way, your guide will explain how Andalusian refugees and Spanish colonial influences shaped Tétouan’s identity.
You’ll also see traditional craft areas like leather tanning workshops and meet local vendors practicing age-old traditions. This authentic tour gives you a deep appreciation of Tétouan’s blend of Arab, Andalusian and Mediterranean cultures.
