We begin at the heart of the Medina, where the narrow streets open into a world of spice merchants, artisan workshops, and centuries-old architecture. From there, we wind our way up to the Kasbah, the old fortress district that once guarded the city’s secrets ,with sweeping views over the Strait of Gibraltar where Europe and Africa face each other across the water.
Along the way, you’ll discover the Grand Socco and Petit Socco, the legendary squares where writers like Paul Bowles and Jack Kerouac once sat and watched the world pass by. You’ll hear stories of Tangier’s international zone era, its Sufi brotherhoods, its Jewish and Andalusian heritage, and the everyday life that still pulses through its walls.
