Free Tour Sintra by Train from Lisbon: Eco-Experience and Architecture
Overview
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:20 am. Saturdays and Sundays 9:40 a.m.
Train ride: 45 minutes, where we will tell the story of the main stations such as Campolide (aqueduct), Benfica (La Luz Stadium), Queluz-Belas (Queluz Palace), Reboleira (end of the blue line of the Metro), Portela (connection to Cascais) and the last station, Sintra.
Arriving in Sintra, we will walk to the historic center seeing outside the Manueline architecture of the Municipal Palace, the Moorish Castle, the oldest house in Queijadas from 1756. We will walk along Volta del Duche to reach the National Palace. Then we will go to the Cantinho Gourmet to learn about the history of Ginjinha, a typical liquor, drink it in chocolate glasses and taste the Travesseiros and Queijadas desserts.
Then we will learn about the history of the romantics who were inspired by Sintra, such as António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, and walk to finish at the Quinta da Regaleira Palace. (Entrance NOT included €20 per adult) Optional guided tour.
Tour not adapted for people with reduced mobility or no vision.
Not suitable for animals.

Things to note
The Eco Tour can be done in 2 languages at the same time, Spanish and Portuguese.
It is important to bring a bottle of water, hat, sunscreen, umbrella, coat and comfortable shoes for more than 2 hours of walking.
The train does not have restrooms, but Rossio and Sintra stations do.
No meals are included.
The walk is of low difficulty.
The entire walk takes 3 hours in total, between the 45 minute train ride and the approximately 2:15 minute walk.
The passenger must pay the train ticket of approximately 6 euros round trip.
If the passenger wants to taste the Ginjinha liqueur in chocolate glasses, he/she must pay 2 euros per person at the tasting.
If the passenger wants to eat typical desserts, travesseiros or quejadas, he must pay for them himself.
The passenger can return whenever he wants to Lisbon from Sintra train station, every half hour has train to return from Monday to Friday and every hour on weekends. Trains to Lisbon can stop at 2 return stations: Oriente or Rossio.
If the passenger decides to return to the meeting point station, he/she should go to Rossio.
Recommendations will be given for many activities to do after the ride, such as how to get to the Portuguese Finisterre, Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, or Cascais, where you can spend the afternoon on the beaches.
In case of GREVES, surprise strike or not, of trains by the company CP COMBOIOS DE PORTUGAL, the activity will be suspended with the option to set a new date.
In case of rain, hail, strong storm or thunderstorm, the activity is suspended.
In case of any kind of warning that may jeopardize the normal development of the activity, the activity is suspended.
