Overview
Triana isn’t just a neighborhood in Seville—it’s a world of its own, on the other bank of the Guadalquivir. On this tour, we’ll discover its history, its traditions, and the people who have forged an identity rooted in ceramics, flamenco, and everyday life.
We’ll stroll through streets and squares, discovering the history of the courtyards and corral de vecinos—places where a vibrant community life has flourished for centuries. We’ll talk about Triana’s famous cigar makers, flamenco, and its leading figures, as well as the Inquisition and the neighborhood’s lesser-known past.
We’ll explore Triana’s relationship with the Guadalquivir River—from trade and navigation to the transformations of modern Seville—and we’ll understand why Triana pottery has become one of the city’s symbols.
A tour to discover a more down-to-earth, everyday, and contradictory side of Seville—far removed from stereotypes and postcard imagery. Because to truly understand Seville, you have to cross the bridge and let Triana win you over.

On arrival
The meeting point is at the Jardines de Rafael Montesinos, near the monument to Antonio Mairena. The guide will be waiting for you next to the monument; you’ll easily recognize him or her because they’ll be holding a beige flag with “GiraSiviglia” written on it.
We recommend arriving about 10 minutes before the tour starts.
