We will begin our introduction to the city by exploring its history and its old town.
You will see the first church in Portugal built in the Manueline style. You will see the old city walls, which are 500 years old, and I will tell you about the unique advertising azulejos.
We will visit a beautiful viewpoint that offers a perfect view of the entire port.
After the walk, if you like, you can try the most delicious fried cuttlefish in town.
After the break, we will meet again to visit the three fortifications. Palmela Castle is the fortress where the Grand Masters of the Order of Santiago once lived. The Fort of São Filipe was built in the 17th century to protect the city. Finally, we will visit the 20th-century combat fortifications, which offer a panoramic view of the Arrábida Mountains and the ocean.
