Independence District Tour of Sao Paulo: Where Brazil Was Born
Overview
Did you know that Brazil’s independence was declared right here?
Think of this experience as spending time with a local friend who loves history, storytelling, and sharing the city beyond its clichés. I’ll share fun facts, forgotten tales, and personal tips, from secret photo spots to nearby local food gems.
You can choose when the tour will take place according to both your availability and mine.
⚠️ Please note: this tour is published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, but it has lower demand compared to my other experiences. Booking a date and time here doesn’t automatically mean the tour will happen then — it’s very important that you send me a message on WhatsApp or through FreeTour so we can coordinate. I usually give priority to tours with higher demand, but we can definitely arrange this one as well.
If you want to feel São Paulo's soul through its history, architecture, and local stories, let’s walk, talk, and connect at the place where Brazil was born.
This activity includes:

On arrival
Meeting Point:
We’ll meet at the entrance of the Museu Vicente de Azevedo, located at Rua Dom Luís Lasagna, 300 – Ipiranga, near the Independence Park.
Google Maps: Search for “Museu Vicente de Azevedo”
How to Get There:
By metro: The closest station is Alto do Ipiranga (Line 2 - Metro), but it's about a 20-minute walk from there to the museum.
By Uber or taxi: This is often the most comfortable option. The ride from central areas, such as Paulista or Sé, is quick and affordable.
By bus: Several bus lines stop right in front of or very close to the museum. You can use Google Maps to find the best route for your location. The fare is around R$5, and buses in São Paulo are safe and convenient. (It is essential to have cash.)
Look for me at the museum entrance, I’ll be wearing a backpack or holding a folder.
