Overview

We begin our tour at Praça da Liberdade, the heart of this emblematic neighborhood of São Paulo. Here we will talk about the origin of the name "Liberdade" and how this area went from being a place marked by colonial history to become the main Japanese neighborhood of the city.
We will then walk along Rua dos Aflitos, one of the oldest streets in the region. Here we will explore a lesser known part of history, connected to the colonial past and the cultural transformations of the neighborhood.

We continue to Rua Galvão Bueno, the most famous avenue of Liberdade. Here we will see the characteristic oriental street lamps and talk about the Japanese immigration in Brazil, one of the most important in the world outside Japan.

We continue along Rua Tomaz Gonzaga, known as the street of restaurants. This is the ideal place to talk about Japanese and Oriental gastronomy in Brazil, as well as give local recommendations of authentic food and places.

Finally, we end our tour in Vila Portuguesa, a charming corner that contrasts with the Japanese influence of the neighborhood and shows the cultural diversity that makes up São Paulo.
