Christmas in Santiago: Tour among Lights and Stone

This tour brings together the Christmas atmosphere with the historical heritage of Santiago de Compostela, creating a unique experience between tradition, light and culture. We start at the Christmas Market of Carreira do Conde, a space full of crafts, decorations and local products that mark the beginning of the festive spirit.

We will continue to the convent of the Mercedarias to observe its facade, where the magnificent sculptural group of the Annunciation, the work of Mateo Prado, stands out, and we will delve into its connection with the religious tradition of the order. Then, in San Fiz de Solovio, we will discover the tympanum of the Epiphany and an impressive handcrafted nativity scene with more than 250 figures, one of the most visited pieces of Christmas in Santiago de Compostela.

In the Plaza de Platerías we will talk about the Campus Stellae, the lights that led to the tomb of the apostle, while we observe reliefs dedicated to the Epiphany and the Flight into Egypt. We will close the tour in the Plaza del Obradoiro, under its large illuminated metal tree and the monumental decoration that makes this place the real festive heart of the city.
