From a port of humble fishermen to the capital of the island, Santa Cruz keeps countless stories in its streets. In this guided tour we will discover many of them, starring pirates, generals and chicharreros on foot. An enjoyable 2-hour route that will fly by. We promise.
The starting point will be the Plaza de España and we will visit the following stops:
- Plaza de España
- Interpretation Center of the Castle of San Cristobal
- Church of La Concepción
- Santos Ravine
- La Noria Street
- Isla de la Madera Square
- Chicharro Square
- Prince of Asturias Square
- San Francisco Church
- Candelaria Square
Why do the locals call themselves "chicharreros"? What are the "escaldón de gofio" and the "pleito insular"? Why did the parish priest of the city write to the Pope? And why is Carnival not only a celebration in this city, but it goes much further?
