Free Tour: Historic Center Santa Cruz de la Palma
Overview
We will start visiting the Balcones Típicos (double balconies, of Lusitanian influence whose purpose was to ventilate the houses, enjoy the sea and its trade winds...), we will continue to the Castle of Santa Catalina (defensive system and access to the city, today it is a Historic Artistic Monument), we will go up the Boat of the Virgin - Naval Museum.
We will start going down towards the Plazuela de la Cruz del Tercero, meeting place and local recreation, we will continue down the street Anselmo Pérez de Brito and Calle O'Daly (Calle Real), with stops at the Placeta de Borrero (one of the most photographed areas of the capital), the Sociedad la Investigadora (Real Casino), Plaza Vandale, Real Club Nautico, Casa Cabrera, the Casas Consistoriales, Plaza de España and Church of El Salvador ..... In all this you will know the Portuguese, Dutch, Irish influence, the maritime importance of the seaport, being the 3rd most important in the world after Flanders and Huelva since its creation in 1493.
Santa Cruz de La Palma, with only 17.000 inhabitants is FULL of surprises and history, you just need to know it and we will show it to you.

On arrival
The meeting point is located in one of the most commercial streets of the capital. Pedestrian street full of stores and bustle.... we put on each tour our Banner on the corner between the Plaza Vandale and the Lottery Administration No. 1 of the Island (the only one that has given the Christmas Jackpot on the Island) and with almost 80 years of existence.
Things to note
If you wish, bringing water for hydration is fine. In La Palma we enjoy a good climate, where there are mild autumns and springs. Comfortable shoes and all the journey can be done by people with reduced mobility or minors. Entrance to private museums is NOT included.
