Overview
On this tour you will discover how the particular history of the Basque Country has allowed its language, the Basque language, and its myths to survive to this day, and how these stories shape the identity of the region.
Throughout the walk you will meet amazing characters and events: from corsairs and whalers who sailed the seas, to explorers such as Juan Sebastian Elcano and others who have gone unnoticed, through absolutely incredible stories of the city, legends of goddesses, witches, lamias and creatures that watch over the corners of the city.
You will immerse yourself in the secrets of the eguzkilore, protector of Basque homes, and discover how mythology and popular stories have survived the passage of time, resisting even centuries of changes and oblivion. Every street, every corner, has a story that connects language, culture and the incredible imagination of those who inhabited these lands.
This tour is for those who love stories that surprise, unforgettable characters and secrets waiting to be discovered. Get ready to laugh, be surprised and see San Sebastian and the Basque Country with different eyes: more magical, more curious and definitely more... unexpected.

Things to note
Meet me in the pews in front of the cathedral entrance. If it rains, I will wait in the portico. I usually go with a red t-shirt, but if not, I make sure to contact them before the tour.
