San Jose Walking Historical & Cultural Tour

Overview of the tour in San Jose

There is no better way to get to know the most emblematic corners of the city of San José and its historic center than with a local tour guide.

We will begin the tour at the Plaza de la Cultura, located on one of the busiest avenues in the city, a recognized meeting point for Costa Ricans. We will visit the emblematic National Theater, just 50 meters from the meeting point, and then walk for no more than 7 minutes to the historic Barrio Amón and its historic buildings, cafes, cultural centers and parks.

From there we will go to the National Park, just 3 minutes from the Amón neighborhoods, passing by the Museum of Contemporary Art and the old Costa Rican liquor factory, currently headquarters of the Ministry of Culture. We will be able to enter the building, since entry is free and very particular. We will visit the old Bella Vista barracks, where the abolition of the Costa Rican army was proclaimed more than 100 years ago, with many stories of national heroes and characters that represent this historic decision.

We will walk along the central avenue, passing multiple shops and places of cultural interest. Join us and discover the history and culture of San José in a unique way!
