Free Tour Modern & Ancient Samarkand
Overview
Our journey begins at the majestic Gur-e Amir Mausoleum, the final resting place of Amir Timur. From there, we’ll stroll along the central Boulevard, the lively heart of modern Samarkand, and pass by the Makon Mall and the Hokimiyat (City Hall) — symbols of the city’s new face.
We then step into history with the breathtaking Registan Square, followed by the grand Bibi-Khanym Mosque. At the colorful Siab Bazaar, you’ll see how local life has continued for centuries. Next, we’ll visit the Khazrati Khizr Mosque, offering stunning views over the city, and the sacred Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, with its dazzling blue-tiled mausoleums.
To complete the experience, we’ll explore the Eternal City (Abadiy Shahar), a new cultural quarter designed in traditional style, and the impressive Silk Road Samarkand Complex, where modern architecture meets Uzbek heritage. Together, these stops show how Samarkand is both a living museum and a vibrant modern city.
