Salzburg in under an hour Free Tour
Overview
The meeting point is at the Florianibrunnen (Alter Markt). We pass the oldest bookshop in Austria and make our way to University Square (with an exciting architectural surprise). Via a secret path, we end up at modern art, which has made it into the local vernacular. This is not to be the last, somewhat hidden, work of art on our tour.
What would Salzburg be without its large squares and churches? We pass the most important ones and learn all kinds of interesting facts. We end the tour where we started it, at the statue of St. Florian.
This activity includes:
- Awilda
- Residenzplatz
- Salzburg Cathedral
- Kapitelschwemme
- Gurken
- Residenzbrunnen
- Florianibrunnen
- Franziskanerkirche
On arrival
The Florianibrunnen is located on the upper part of the Alter Markt, which can be reached from Getreidegasse and Judengasse, as well as from Residenzplatz (if you are looking straight towards the Residenz, walk past the building on the right-hand side).
Things to note
Due to limited time, we will (unless otherwise requested) only briefly cover the outside of the Höllrigl bookshop and churches we pass by thematically (Franciscan Church and Cathedral) and not go inside. Salzburg Cathedral requires a maintenance fee of 5 euros (young people and children under 18 are free) and would take more time, apart from the fact that private tours are not permitted. The Festspielhaus will also only be part of the tour from the outside when visiting Hofstallgasse.
Free Cancellation
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
