Overview
We'll start our activity at Castro Alves Square and then head towards Chile Street, the first street in Brazil. We'll then pass the Palacete Tira Hat and arrive at Praça Municipal, the first square in Brazil, where the administration of old Salvador is located. We'll also take a break next to the Lacerda elevator to enjoy the view and tell you some interesting facts.
We'll set off for the Fallen Cross, where I'll show you the sculpture and tell you a little about the Primatial da Sé, demolished in 1933, which used to be located there. We'll pass Praça da Sé, where the monuments to Brazil's first bishop and Zumbi dos Palmares, leader of the largest refuge for escaped slaves in colonial Brazil, are located.
We'll continue on to Largo Terreiro de Jesus where the first Cathedral, the first Jesuit school and the country's first water supply are located.
We'll pass the Cruzeiro de São Francisco and the Casa do Olodum.
And finally we'll arrive at Largo do Pelourinho, where the colorful houses are located and where Michael Jackson recorded with the band Olodum.
