Overview
Begin your adventure in the Prevalla area, located 1,515 meters above sea level and just a 45-minute drive from Prizren. This trail takes you to the stunning Shar Mountain Bistro cirque, an 8 km journey with about 4 hours of hiking.
Prevalla, a charming ski center, boasts three distinct climates, continental, polar, and Mediterranean, all experienced in a single day. Snow blankets the area from November to May, with the highest peak towering at 2,651 meters, surrounded by similar altitudes.
The hike follows the Lumbardh (Bistrica) River, which winds through the mountain valley to Prizren and continues into Albania. While the first few kilometers are challenging, the path soon becomes flatter before reaching a forested, rocky section near beautiful waterfalls. A unique feature here is the proximity of two Lepenci rivers, just 500 meters apart, both belonging to the Aegean Sea basin. Keep an eye out for wildlife like the elusive Chamois.
