Free Tour of the Ribeira do Porto
Overview
We will start from Praça da Batalha to talk about Porto's resistance and, afterwards, we will approach the Porta do Sol area, where we will understand how the medieval city grew and what role its ancient defenses played.
We will continue to the Cathedral of Porto and continue to the Igreja dos Grilos, with one of the most special viewpoints of the historic center. From there we will contemplate the staggered city that descends towards the river.
The walk will continue through squares such as São Domingos and São João Novo, spaces where convents, palaces and historic buildings reveal centuries of changes. We will then go down the Escadas do Caminho Novo, remembering the old Jewish quarter of Olival and the mercantile importance of Porto.
In the Ribeira we will discover the Church of San Francisco, the Palacio da Bolsa and the Casa do Infante before finishing at the Cais da Ribeira, between colorful facades, rabelos, views of Gaia and the Dom Luís I Bridge.

- Please arrive 15 minutes in advance so that the tour can start on time.
- Our guides will be identified with a blue-green flag and the company logo: Paseando Por Europa.
- Show the guide, at the meeting point, the booking confirmation email, either printed or by cell phone or tablet.
- What is a free tour? Free comes from the concept "free", that is, you are free to set the price you want to the tour once it is finished, depending on your satisfaction and budget.
- Group bookings of more than 6 adults have to pay 10€ per adult. The maximum allowed is 3 children per adult.
- If your group is more than 6 adults and you have made several separate reservations under different names, but all for the same group, you will have to pay 10€ per adult. Otherwise, we will not be able to accept you on the tour and the guide may ask you to leave the tour.

How can the tour be free?
Our concept is simple — there is no set price. Instead, you tip your guide at the end of the tour whatever amount feels right to you. Typically, guests give between $10 to €50, depending on their satisfaction and budget.
Most guides accept cash or card payments, or you can do it via our app.
Free Cancellation
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
