Overview
We will meet in Piazza XX Settembre, next to the City Hall, in the old Kinzica district. From there we will admire the Lungarni with its characteristic buildings. We will cross the Ponte di mezzo to reach the central Piazza Garibaldi and pass through Borgo Stretto, the promenade and shopping street. We will reach the old town where the city was born and after strolling through its medieval alleys, we will admire in the distance the Chiesa della spina and the Cittadella vecchia. Then we will reach Piazza dei Cavalieri, the ancient medieval political center, transformed by the Florentine Medici family into a wonderful Renaissance square, headquarters of the Knights.
Finally, we will reach the famous square of the Leaning Tower where we will see the monuments that compose it: Bell Tower, Cathedral, Baptistery and Cemetery. The visit consists in the explanation of the monuments from the outside, talking also about the works inside.
