We'll separate legend from history, uncover hidden stories, and discover why Philadelphia became the stage for some of the most important decisions ever made in America. Walk through the birthplace of American independence as we uncover the stories behind the Declaration of Independence and the remarkable people who created a new nation.
Follow Alexander Hamilton's extraordinary journey—from a poor immigrant from the Caribbean to George Washington's trusted aide and America's first Secretary of the Treasury. Learn how Hamilton built the country's financial system, established the First Bank of the United States and created America's credit.
Total walking distance: ~1.5 miles (2.4 km), mostly flat, with opportunities to stop, rest, and take photos throughout the tour.

On arrival
I will be standing with a YELLOW umbrella at Dolly Ottey Park to the RIGHT of the entrance of Elfreth's Alley (the oldest continuously inhabited residential street in America).
Address: 137 Elfreth's Alley, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
If you are facing the entrance of Elfreth's Alley, I will be about 30 feet (10 meters) to the RIGHT (at the small park).

* At most stops, you'll have a chance to sit down, rest, and enjoy the stories.
* We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
